Native macOS
Record it. Edit it. Ship it.
One app instead of three.
Screen recording with zoom that actually follows your cursor, a real multi-track editor for what you recorded, and one-click product shots. All processed on your Mac — nothing uploads.
You were using three apps for this
A recorder that can’t edit. An editor that doesn’t know what a cursor is. A separate tool for still shots. Lapiz is all of it, and they actually know about each other.
Record
Screen and webcam, with cursor movement logged as data — not burned into the pixels.
Edit
The timeline already has your zoom regions in it, because the recorder put them there.
Lightbox
The same canvas that frames your video frames your stills, so a launch set matches.
The recorder
Recording isn’t an afterthought either
Screen, webcam, and audio, captured the way you’d actually want to edit them later.
Fluid Zoom
Zoom that follows the work, not a keyframe
Hold a shortcut while you record and the frame moves with you — spring-damped, dead-zoned, never twitchy. Or drop zoom regions in the editor afterwards and adjust them frame by frame. Automatic when you want it, exact when you need it.
⌥ Z
Hold to zoom while recording. Release and the frame springs back on its own.
⌥ scroll
Adjust the amount mid-take without stopping the recording.
⌘ K
Every zoom becomes an editable region in the timeline afterwards.
The editor
Not a trim slider. An actual timeline.
Multi-track video, image and audio. Split, drag clips between tracks, per-clip framing and shadows, colour grading, fades. Detach a clip’s audio and run it through a real effects chain.
The canvas
Everything you export looks composed
Animated mesh backgrounds, real refractive glass borders, padding, corner radius, shadow. Set it once and every frame you export carries it.
Lightbox
Drop a screenshot. Take it with you.
Lightbox is the still-image half of Lapiz.
Same canvas engine, applied to stills. Load a batch of product shots and they all share one treatment — change the background once, every image updates.
This runs entirely in your browser. The Mac app does the same thing, with video.
Export
One edit, every aspect ratio
Export the same project as landscape, vertical and square in a single pass. MP4, GIF, or a still frame. Presets per destination so you’re not re-typing dimensions every time.
Every ratio, one pass
16:9, 9:16, 1:1, and 4:5 render together — not one export per ratio.
MP4, GIF, or a still frame
Pick the format per destination — the edit underneath doesn’t change.
Presets, not re-typing
Save your own dimensions once and reuse them on every export.
MP4
GIF
PNG
Every selected ratio renders in one pass.
Local-first
Your recordings never leave your Mac
No cloud processing, no upload step, no account required to edit. Recording, rendering and export all run on your machine — which is also why export is fast and works on a plane.
The screenshot tool above ran entirely in your browser too. Same principle.
The line is flat because there’s nothing to send.
